Environment Agency Abstraction License Volume Increase
Our recent Test Pumping works in Kent have been the culmination of Environment Agency discussions, Water Features Survey, monitoring regime planning and securing Ground Investigation Consent.
With multiple nearby abstractors, SSSI and vulnerable groundwaters the detailed Hydrogeological Impact Assessment and full license application will ensure the client secures their increased abstraction license to meet their growing demands.

Scotland Thermal Response Testing
Following an initial closed loop borehole design we were instructed to undertake a Thermal Response Test on a borehole array for a new build residential property.
Aquifer Energy provided the Thermal Response Testing equipment as well as power for the duration of the 48 hour test allowing the uninterrupted injection of heating into the borehole for the duration of the test.
Following the completion of the site works Aquifer Energy was able to undertake a full interpretation of the results to generator an accurate in-situ Thermal Conductivity. These results were used in the updated closed loop borehole model to accurately reflect the required number and depth of closed loop boreholes at the property.

Kent - Water Features Survey

As part of the application for a new water abstraction borehole our client first required Ground Investigation Consent to enable them permission to drill and test pump a new borehole.
Prior to the Ground Investigation Consent (GIC) being issued the Environment Agency requested a Water Features Survey be undertaken. Aquifer Energy undertook the survey in a 1km radius around the proposed new borehole to identify other abstraction, features and water resources that could be impact by the proposed new abstraction. All features were visited, recorded and mapped before being returned to the Environment Agency ensuring a prompt issuing of the GIC.
Once drill Aquifer Energy continued the license process with the test pumping interpretation, Hydrogeological Impact assessment (HIA) and full license application. The client has now received their license allowing them to abstraction over 120,000m3/year.
