Ground Investigation Consent

To undertake the drilling of a new borehole or test pumping regime under the Environment Agency, SEPA or NRW a Ground Investigation Consent (GIC) is required. Aquifer Energy can assist with the whole process from WR32 to Water Features Survey and issue of the Ground Investigation Consent

To drill or test pump any borehole intending to abstract >20m3/day a Ground Investigation Consent (GIC) is required, the document will outline your authorisation to drill with set depth & diameter requirements, targeting a specific aquifer and undertake a test pumping regime. 

The process of applying for a Ground Investigation Consent can seem daunting, Aquifer Energy can guide you through the fully process from initial EA, SEPA or NRW discussions, WR32 application, completion of the Water Features Survey and issue of the Ground Investigation Consent. 

The application processes usually takes 4 to 8 weeks from initial discussion through to issue of the Ground Investigation Consent. We liaise with the regulatory bodies throughout the process to ensure smooth completion of the application.

 

Once completed the Environment Agency, SEPA or NRW will issue your Ground Investigation Consent allowing you to drill your borehole.
